Probably right, I was having the multi-touch issue on the CleanGB ROM, using the kernel the Dev provided.  When I switched to the IAP SAMURI NINJA kernel the multi-touch worked fine.

they are trying to port the 3.xx kernal to the epic once this is done it will fix alot of the issues we have and allow for OC kernels as for camara and vm issues they are known issues and are being worked out by devs this is just a preview modle to show the current work done so far on the ics porting.

Games do not work due to ram allication issues once they find away to release background apps from the memory this will fix the gaming in ics all programs are gpu enhanced and take an extra 8MB of ram that as of know is not released due to the lack of ram the epic has.

First, this just looks great and runs great.  Very nice job!  Only issue I'm having is with Bluetooth/Vlingo.  In CM7, I'd get one connection with BT when activating Vlingo, then would only be through speaker.  Now I don't get any connecting with Bluetooth.  When the phone dials, it connects to Bluetooth.

What I have found, in the Bluetooth Setting under Settings, the MAC Address doesn't match what on my Bluetooth device, nor does it show the Device Name, only Mac Address. Before it would show Plantronics520.

That is all I have noticed, other than what has already been mentioned.

Great work all!

Bug Report
I was trying to add the weather widget and I noticed by GPS wasn't working.  Then tried to use Google Maps and my phone rebooted and got caught in the limbo at boot (after Samsung logo).  Had to boot into recovery to clear regular Cache and it booted fine again.

I tried to run a gps test on my phone and it just says searching for gps and does nothing, but it didnt reboot or anything. I opened up google maps just fine but its only picking up my location via wifi since im connected here at work. Seems like on the next release location services - fixed by Uberpinguino.

In the status info under broken it lists location services. Does this mean that apps can't determine your location like yellow pages, navigation, google maps, etc? It's also listed as fixed in next release are these releases nightly or frequently regular like weekly or something like that? Is there a roadmap on which broken and annoying bugs will be worked on first? I ask because there are just a couple of things that would keep me from using it to help with testing and reporting any issues since my testing it involves needing a few things working that I use daily.

Thanks

I believe so if you are using gps but they will determine your location if connected on wifi. I tested out google maps and apps...

I don't see this on the status page or here, but automatic screen rotation does not work for me at all. I've made sure it's enabled in settings and I even tried a toggle widget from the market, nothing.

I wiped everything when I installed, so nothing should be conflicting.

I'm having this exact problem. I tried wiping/flashing 3 times (as in the whole process 3 times), didn't work. I tried odin'ing to stock and then started from scratch and still auto rotate does not work. I confirmed it still works in stock and CM7. I do have both auto-rotate boxes checked.

I thought perhaps there wouldn't be nightlies but was curious if there was a regular schedule as bugs were fixed. Or if it was an as soon as enough fixes are in a new build is put out. The only concerns I have before beginning testing are the way too quiet ringtone and multitouch not working. As I'm assuming that means that when someone is calling me and any notifications will be too quiet to hear and multitouch would mean I won't be able to zoom in or out with the browser. My daily main uses are communication, PIM apps, web browsing, and location stuff (taken care of in the next release). Which is mainly why I was wondering if there was a roadmap of fixes. Though an idea of the priority of those fixes would give me an idea on if I will be able to test under daily use soon or just following things for perhaps a month or two with the possibility of one shot test scenarios reverting back to CM7 after performing the scenario.

Mines rotating fine with both boxes checked. I came from CM7 nightly 31.

This is not the issue where you get the SMS from 9016 every time you get a new voicemail.  As you said google voice, or any third party voicemail service clears that up (youmail, hullo mail, etc.)  This has to do with the voicemail waiting indicator.  I believe it stems from the fact that sprint uses different voicemail systems for android vs. non android phones.  When you get your android phone you are switched over to its voicemail system and if you had voicemails on the old system it must still send out some sort of indicator which Cyanogen Mod roms detect.  From what I have read, the trick is to clear out messages from this old system by either re-activating a non android handset or by somehow getting customer service to do it for you.  In CM7 there is the option to just disable this indicator entirely, which effectively gets the job done but on CM9 this option is not available yet.

I'm new to CM, but am loving it so far.  The phone is just amazing.

I am getting the txt messages from 9016 when I leave myself test vmails.  I do use GV, but don't want use for my phone.  Its only used for my GV number and account.

Is there anyway to get vmail app or access like I had on other ROMs?

Yeah, I can get mine to rotate by opening the keyboard, but it does not auto rotate. It seems like this issue does not affect many people as I've only seen one to two others. I came from the latest CM7 nightly and it did not work. So I tried odining to stock (EC05) and went through all the upgrades to then install fresh CM9 and it still does not auto-rotate.

Not sure what else to try, but hopefully it just starts working in a future release.

Also - I've confirmed my accelerometer works via the accelerometer app from the market.

looking good, except for a couple issues:

1- i also have no rotation in apps, but sliding keyboard open will push it into landscape.
2- saw no mention of it working (or not) in notes, so not sure if this is a widely occuring or known issue, but tethering over wifi and bluetooth don't work.  over wifi, it will initialize, my computer will see it advertise it's id, then the phone turns off the wifi.  bluetooth connects but won't assign an ip.

Fantastic job on this guys! I'm absolutely amazed to see a phone that launched with Eclair handling Ice Cream Sandwich like a champ! I sent some money to the xeon processor fund to show my appreciation.

After using it for a few hours I've discovered two relatively minor issues, and they're probably upstream.

1) It seems like we can't adjust permissions for apps anymore.  I've tried turning off location data for apps that think they need location data, but are really just invading my privacy.  I'm sure this is an upstream issue.

2) Device rotation is set for on or off.  I always let it on with 270 rotation turned off.  I usually check a few things before going to sleep with my phone at a 270.  I can change the toggle, but being able to turn 270 off is great.

If you've got a message waiting indicator stuck it can be cleared by tech support but it would require a pretty savvy Tech Support rep to understand what you are asking for since the Epic doesn't use the standard (legacy) VM Platform.... you would need to tell them to check SPV to see if it shows a message waiting and then they should be able to figure out how to clear it.

Fantastic work guys!

Couple of things.  the 100mhz step doesn't work in performance defaults back to 200mHz.  The system sounds seem to cause AudioOut_1 to wakelock. (disabling unlock sounds, and touch sounds seems to have fixed this for me.) Tasker can't seem to toggle GPS (might be a tasker thing) other than that nothing seems to bother me.  Thanks all! keep it up
