Yeah, I can get mine to rotate by opening the keyboard, but it does not auto rotate. It seems like this issue does not affect many people as I've only seen one to two others. I came from the latest CM7 nightly and it did not work. So I tried odining to stock (EC05) and went through all the upgrades to then install fresh CM9 and it still does not auto-rotate.

Not sure what else to try, but hopefully it just starts working in a future release.

Also - I've confirmed my accelerometer works via the accelerometer app from the market.

Go to display in settings and make sure auto rotate screen is checked. I had to manually do this when I flashed CM9 the first time. Also, this ROM is way too good to be called an alpha. This is my daily driver and everything I use works for me, possibly better than CM7.

I also have the same rotation issue that a few others have reported.  It is enabled in both locations.

I also noticed that if you bring up the dialpad during a call (for voicemail, IVR, etc..) and don't close it before putting the phone to your ear, it will transmit the DTMF tones as it touches your face.  Could the proximity sensor be utilized to temporarily disable the dialpad in this situation?

Other than that, I agree with 7590Steve - this is way too smooth for an Alpha...  donation on it's way.

Yep, tried that. I've tried every combination of checking auto rotate (display, launcher, and accessibility - although accessibility seems to be tied to the display one), it simply doesn't work. It worked fine when I went back to CM7 and accelerometer works in a test app. For now I will live with it, as you said the rom works great.

Is it required/recommended that we do the full wipe going from alpha 0 to alpha 1?

anybody got a torch/flashlight they're using on this yet?  Don't feel like trying 50 different apps to find one that works..
Otherwise i'm loving alpha 1, it's super smooth and working great for me so far.

Been using for 2 days for business and pleasure. Minor bugs as reported but awesome. Two things that stand out that I haven't seen mentioned yet are, bluetooth works better then CM 7 and my phone runs very warm/almost hot.

Thank you so much! Having ICS on this phone is amazing.

The big issues I have experienced so far are:
1) Screen does not rotate (same as others have posted here)
2) The calendar does not sync with my Exchange account (this is keeping me from using it as a daily driver)

I have no doubt this will all get resolved and I have no problem waiting.

Haven't had this issue. Just flashed Alpha 1 this morning and my Exchange calendar/email/contacts sync fine

After I upgraded from Alpha 0 to Alpha 1, I removed/added my account and now my calendar is working. It still does not rotate, but I may have to activate my number on this phone now.

If you've got a message waiting indicator stuck it can be cleared by tech support but it would require a pretty savvy Tech Support rep to understand what you are asking for since the Epic doesn't use the standard (legacy) VM Platform.... you would need to tell them to check SPV to see if it shows a message waiting and then they should be able to figure out how to clear it.

There are a couple of custom kernels posted on xda

I have only got the txt msg one time and that is when a new message was left.  I have tried to dail *86 but it says the feature is not available.  Can I install the vmail app from a different or or is there a different way to access my Sprint voicemail.

Thanks and I'm sorry if I'm missing something simple.

I have the same problem on CM7. Just dial your own number. That takes you straight to your voicemail. :-) In fact, that works on any cell phone, on any provider.

Just flashed alpha 1. Wiped dalvik and cache just to be safe and everything was the way i left it. Calendar, Gmail, and G+ are syncing. Not sure about something though, on this release the location services is fixed but under gps source<internal gps isnt highlighted and didnt do anything to it on alpha 0 cuz it was working. Do i highlight it??? or just leave alone???

Luckily when I'm in CWM I can reach my downloads folder although it's not on the initial screen I can volume up and its high enough on my next page of folders to see and select. This rom is awesome. I am using it as a daily, no looking back from here. Got me through an 8 hour day of work today with 4 hours of talk time..satisfied with that.

This is the most kick-ass thing that could've happened to my Epic! Minor bugs that everyone else has but this is one solid ROM. My daily driver now! Thanks guys, you are awesome.
