i had this mod added to my phone in afghanistan and it worked great. im home on leave in the states and my phone will not even pick up a signal of any sort. i have tried everything i know to fix it woth no luck. and now it will not come off airplane mode anymore. can someone please tell me what i can do to fix this issue.

I've had the same constant problem.  I've travelled to/from the US to UK, Japan, Korea, and Philippians and cannot access any carrier network when arriving in these countries.  I do, however (after landing), receive the complimentary text message from the provider outlining usage rates, country code, etc however I cannot access their 2G or 3G network.   I enable global mode with data enabled, however this seems to corrupt my connection.   When I reboot the phone, it is usually locked in Airplane Mode or in another status not allowing me to attempt to change Network Providers or connection protocols.   The only success I have has is to restore the ROM to a state before I travelled, and that will re-enable provider access after returning back to the States.   I do have a "global" plan with my provider and things did work when I was on the stock HTC ROM, however with all stable/nightly editions of CM, I am not able to successfully connect to a partner network in another country outside of the US.  Attempting to connect only corrupts the connection and renders my celluar status inoperable.  I simply get an "x" on the connection status and I have tried almost every variation of 2G, CMDA, GSM, and EvDo.  I have travelled to 3 or 4 countries the past 6 months and have experiemented with CM each time I land, however, i have to revert to an HTC ROM while in country in order to use a voice/data plan.
