In addition to this post from last night. I have ran across a few other issues as well.
First one being what appears to be a common problem of the text notifiers from "9016" whenever you are left a voicemail. Also pertaining to voicemails, I get an icon in the notifier tray saying I have a vm when really I do not. There appears to be a fix from over on xda here. I am going to try this shortly and see how it works. Hopefully that solves it.
The other issue that I am experiencing is that videos will not play in any web browser; I get sound but no picture. I have found a temporary fix by downloading the flash player 10.1 apk but it's clunky and awkward being that it doesn't render correctly on the page but will play in full screen fine. I found this answer on xda as well but forgot the url.
I know this is an "older" device as tech goes, but I though someone would be on the forum since the device is supported. Hopefully I'm not talking to myself here.

10 days. No replies. I have tried to live with some of these (and a couple other that popped up) issues but I think I will be going back to stock/rooted for now.
The vvm.apk fix works, but the built in notification also tries to tell me when there is a new voice-mail; and more than half of the time there isn't even a voice-mail. I dis-affectionately began referring to these as my ghost voice-mails. Very annoying.
I miss calls several time per day since trying this ROM. No notification, no missed call in call log (which I still can't get working properly), and then a ghost voice-mail with no message.
The camera force closes every couple of times I use it; to the point where I have to reboot to get it to work again.
No gmail notifications for new messages, ever, no matter how I try to set it up. I have to manually sync gmail.
I'm disappointed with these shortcomings because basically all of the non-phone aspects work seemingly 10x's better than stock. Faster UI, much longer lasting battery, better camera (when it works), and no Sense UI bloat. Sadly, if the phone portions of the ROM won't work than it's a total deal breaker because after all; this is a phone and I need to get calls, vm's, and texts reliably.
Bidding a sad goodbye
