Hello everyone,

I've recently installed the Cyanogen Mod 7.1 on my HTC Desire S.
Everything is working flawlessly, except a major bug in the camera and video playback.

When I try to use the camera through the default camera app, it turns on, lags for a little while and then simply stops, showing only one frame no matter towards where I'm pointing.
Videos (flash vids, youtube, and on-device videos) are also unwatchable, with the same problem as the camera - they lag badly, staying on a single frame for several seconds. There seems to be no problem with the audio.

On the original HTC software everything works normally, the bug appears only with CM7.1.

The strangest thing is that camera and videos work normally when I hold and drag something on the screen, they immediately stop lagging and start playing smoothly! (when I release, they go back to their previous state)
Apart from that, when using a different app for the camera, it seems to be working normally.

I would really appreciate it if someone is able to help, as this problem is driving me crazy. I really like Cyanogen and would not want to go back to using the stock HTC software.

PS if you need more information, or even a video of the problem, don't hesitate to ask.

Regards,
Max.

I have to confirm this Bug with CM 7.1 and also with CM 7.2 RC1

This happens either with Tiamat Kernel, Reaper or any Cyanogen Based Rom ...

Sincerly

I have this problem too. Any recommendations for CyanogenMod-like ROMs which don't have this bug?

Hi,
same problem here.
In CM 7.1.0 camera, camcorder and video playback unusable.
Still no hints?

Not sure if this thread will address your issues. I'm trying it now.
