I'm trying a build of 7.1.0 and like using the Wireless Tether app, which allows me to also pick up the phone and use 3G while tethered. When I launch Wireless Tether it also brings up the built-in Hotspot app, which I don't like, harder to access, and no access control.

Is there a way to kill/remove the built-in Hotspot app?

I don't see why a "root uninstaller" would not be able to do the trick. Have you tried that? The market should have a free version.
