Hello everyone.
I'd want to propose an idea that came to mind recently.Gtalk is great, makes many proprietary applications (such as WhatsApp) unnecessary. Not only because it is well integrated in Android, but mainly because it uses open protocols.

The problem is that the client included in Android it's a proprietary software made by Google and it is available only with the gapps.
Ok, Gtalk for Android is great, but besides the fact that it would be nice have an open source version, currently has two problems (imho).
1)The audio calls use only the speaker and not the normal phone calls speaker, that's annoying.
2)The client is set to "jingle capable no"...this is really a no sense.

What do you think about an open source Gtalk/XMPP client by cyanogenmod team? Well included in android such as Gtalk.
I think it would be awesome.

I would love to have an cm alternative due the unattented development of gtalk. Can't see much progress during the last years.
And besides there are only a few good talk clients on the market. The imho best one I tried (xabber) needs more battery and notifications also pop up when I use my desktop client instead, which is annoying.
