I went to install CM7.1 (stable build) today on my vibrant because the TeamWhiskey Frost ROM I have installed failed this morning... CM7.1 would not flash though... Seems to have gotten stuck trying to validate the device -- rom was trying to confirm the phone was SHG-T959 -- but somehow my phone is described as SGH-T959V -- Anyone know a work around other than going back to stock? -- Should I try installing a nightly build?

I think you should try it, nightly builds are sometimes very different (and better in my opinion) from the "old" stable versions.

Definitely go with a nightly. Not because of the error, but because the E911 bug hasn't been fixed in the latest stable.

As for the error, if you do indeed have a SGH-T959 and not a SGH-T959V, then you can use this file, it's nightly #235 with the asserts removed.
