I just wanted to say as an iOS fan who was very critical of Android, I am loving this release. I bought two Touchpads (actually 6 but gave 4 to family) in the firesale and had both on craigslist 48hrs ago. Then I found out about this and installed it! Was trying to raise cash for an iPad 2 or 3, but now...I don't think so. I feel like my firesale investment is finally paying off. I still think iOS is better, but ICS is really nice and everything works outside of what was previously mentioned. I don't need a camera and better industrial design for 400 more dollars than I paid, and retina is nice but not that nice.

I guess this first post is to say thanks for all those who are working on this it takes a lot to stop a determined iPad buyer to reconsider! LOL

NOT TECHNICALLY SAVVY!!!  Ok, with that said, I bought a touchpad.  My boss has the same one, but hers has CyanogenMod-7 on hers AND I LOVE IT!!!  what are the differences between the 7 and this here 9??  I read some other posts in another forum on this site that says the 7 shouldn't be messed cuase it's great. Sooooo....help? What kind of kinks in the programming are there?  Do I need to connect it to a computer to download it?  How suceptible to viruses is the touchpad with and without the CyanogenMod (CM, right?)

Be kind, I want to learn, not be made fun of!   ^_^

did I even post this in the right place??!!??

CyanogenMod 7 = Android 2.3 Gingerbread
CyanogenMod 9 = Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Google: gingerbread vs ice cream sandwich and you will get lots of results, here's one of them (i didn't really look at the page)
http://www.androidau...sandwich-37742/

I'd say go with CyanogenMod 9, its just so much better...

for installation...
you should've tried to at least click on the first pinned post -> click on link to get to cyanogenmod 7 installation -> theres also an Update 1/18/2012 with a link to install cyanogenmod 9

for viruses, heres a google search:
http://www.androidta...-my-tablet.html

really... all you needed to do was google/ search function / click the pinned topics, its not that hard =/

Won't add to the post above as it is very good - except to say

Best installation site I have seen for CM9 is http://liliputing.co...od-9-alpha.html

And to say - forget CM7 - it won't be developed further for the touchpad - CM9 is what you want for a tablet - and it is fantastic - multiple times better than CM7 and WebOS

That said - there are issues - e.g. camera, mic, reboots, wifi dropouts - not everone has all problems but some affect everyone (like camera)

so it depends on what you need tablet for - I have used mine at work without issue with CM9 but others have had issues
