I'm trying to reinstall CM7 after a catastrophic failure and having trouble this time for some reason, and just can't seem to figure it out. Someone please help!

I'm stuck at the following step

Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery

4. Unzip Hardcore's SpeedMod Kernel.

I don't see any previous reference to Harcore's SpeedMod Kernel in the instructions, so I searched it on google and found:

http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=893880

where there are 6 files, 3 of which are for using Clockwork recovery. All three brick my phone. I'm at a loss as to what to try next.

Nevermind. I found a version that worked here:
http://touristinpara...mod-kernel.html

there are 4 CWM versions on that link, I dunno what the difference is, I just used the first one and it worked for me.

Just curious. If your phone was bricked, how were you able to install the kernal you listed above?  What ROM were you using initially? 2.3.3 Gingerbread?
