Hi everybody! I just finished rooting my NC to CM7 and was all ready to start stuffing it with apps when... The Market displays a server error. I even downloaded an .apk of the new fangled Play and installed it, and it gives the same error message. Help would be most appreciated <3
Edit: also, no lockscreen when waking the tab

Try to go into the application settings of cyanogenMod for the marketplace and deleting the caches and/or the market data for the android marketplace. I noticed that google is messing around again with the android marketplace also. It is now called "Play Store". LOL.  It updated fine on my part on my nook color with no foreseeable problems on my nook. Still updates and sees all apps here.  Make sure you are using the most recent .gapps file for the most recent stable build of  cyanogenmod  7.1 also, both builds have fixes in them for the new android marketplace. The .gapps file can be found here. http://forum.cyanoge...kage-available/

Make sure you have flashed the latest clockworkmod to your nook through the settings of ROM manager, it is 3.2.0.1, on the options on top. The process will take you through it step by step, updating clockworkmod on your nook and then it reboots your nook.

Also make sure to rename your .gapps file to an update.zip without inputting the .zip part, the .zip part is understood already by cyanogenmod. Do not unzip that file. Make sure the update.zip that you renamed from .gapps is sitting on the ROOT of your SD card, and not inside of a folder.

Then use the install custom ROM option from the SD card in the settings of ROM manager, clockworkmod will then start up and you will see the clockworkmod startup screen. choose install from SD card option within clockworkmod. Clockworkmod will then take you through the process of installing the .gapps file which you renamed to an update at that point and reboot. Be patient as it might take up to 5 full minutes for clockworkmod to install all of the binary files, it will then say it will reboot your nook upon completion on its own.

Upon reboot on installing your .gapps file you should get an android startup screen where you input your google email and password, called Gmail, if this is your first time installing your .gapps file. If you do not have a Gmail or its password make yourself one for this purpose. It is free.

If you are updating your .gapps then make sure you go into the application setting of cyanogenmod and delete the data and caches for the android marketplace for it to work properly. The newest .gapps file for your nook can be found here. http://forum.cyanoge...kage-available/

Also make sure you are using the latest stable of cyanogenmod , which is 7.1. The newest .gapps file and the latest stable for cyanogenMod has fixes in them to grant you all access to the available apps for download from the marketplace,  google is now  calling it "play store" on the icon you should now see in your app drawer or on your home-screens.

Hi,

I'm having this same trouble.  I just checked my ROM manager, and it said its version 4.5.01,  Did i get the wrong one?

Second, I am looking for the spot to delete the cache for android marketplace, but can't seem to find it.  Where is that located? - nevermind.  I found that...I think

Third, when I install the new .gapps do I need to have clockworkmod on the SD card?

OK. I have the file named as update.zip on my sdcard.  But in the ROM manaager, I don't see any custom ROM option.  Blargh!

Just use "ROM manager"  to finish mounting that new .gapps file. Here in this thread I go over this step by step. http://forum.cyanoge...ds-and-new-71/. Links included for the new .gapps file in this thread. Flash clockworkmod  with the first option on top in ROM manager, mine says flash clockworkmod recovery. It is 3.2.0.1. The program should get you the latest  clockworkmod for the nook in that same option if you do not have it flashed to your nooks eMMC already.

Then follow instructions step by step as outlined in the thread link given above.

Make sure you are using the latest stable of cyanogenMod for your nook, it is 7.1. and the latest .gapps file, which is needed for accessing the full android market, now called "playstore" as I linked already in box 4.

I have had no problems with accessing any app I needed here using the latest .gapps file and the latest stable of cyanogenMod for my nook, the icon did change when google updated its android marketplace, its now called "play store" on my icon. Still have access to the facebook app and all of the angry bird apps here. The popular Google maps and the Google sky map works and updates here.

In ROM manager its the option in the " ROM MANAGEMENT "  section, the second section from the top, third option from the top.  You use the "Install ROM from SD card" option to finish mounting that .gapps file. It should boot into clockworkmod on its own. Its the third option from the top in my ROM manager v5.0.0.6 Premium version. The latest ROM manager for the nook color I believe.
