Here we go again! New version of CyanogenMod means a new nightly thread, but same old rules!

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.
**
** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
** cause of male impotence.

Woo! Finally a forum!

I just flashed the latest nightly (0315), which happily now includes volume-key music controls! CM9 now officially does everything I need it to (:

Thanks to everyone involved for all the work!

I've been running 0309 for a few days and it's been very stable, and already much better than stock. There did seem to be some scrolling lag from time to time but kernel samepage merging seems to have fixed it (unless it's just my imagination).
This morning I upgraded to 0315 by flashing with only a wipe of the dalvik cache, and all seemed to go well.

I'm sorry I never got to try this with stock, but is anyone having weird audio problems when two programs are trying to use audio at the same time?

For example: I usually play music while out jogging, and I also have mytracks announce the distance every 5 minutes. Used to work well with CM7, but now it ends up sounding like two robots having a fight.

Just wondering if anyone knows whether this is a known issue. It hasn't come up before because it's been too cold to go jogging outdoors until now!

I don't use my device for listening to audio very much, but tried playing some music whilst getting other sounds to play (e.g. ringtones), and there didn't seem to be any problem.

One other thing - is there meant to be a CM9 boot animation with these builds? My device is still showing the stock animation on boot.

Edit: For the moment I've installed this one.

@jethro I'm currently on stock ICS, and my audio is exactly as you describe too (also when I'm using a running app at the same time as listening to music). Definitely not a Cyanogen-specific problem.

I don't know if this is the correct spot for this problem.

I am running 031512 nightly of CM9 and I am unable to send MMS messages.  I can receive them, but they just hang and show sending when I attempt an outgoing one.  I can't make sense of the changelog and I am curious if this is an issue with CM9 or potentially my carrier.  I checked the APN settings and they are correct.  I never tried sending an MMS when I was on stock 4.0.1 but they worked fine on my blackberry previously.  Not so much looking for a fix but I am curious if I am the only one experiencing this issue or not.

I also wanted to say thank you getting the calender support working.  CM9 is coming along great.

First off glad to see a Galaxy Nexus (GSM) forum ;) Second I basically use my nexus for personal use and work and in the past I've flashed cyan to other phones w/o even thinking (nightly builds) but lately we've had so many issues at work (network engineer) so my phone has been my lifeline. Mostly I use it for phone calls, of course, and tethering oh and email/sms. Just curious if these are working fairly well in the nightlies yes I could flash it myself and find out and I probably will but I figured I would ask anyway. Thanks guys

Can anyone comment on the bluetooth stability?  On stock ICS it  doesnt seem too stable with my sony heatset.  Lots of disconnects that won't reset without a reboot.  Also, it only switches between say the phone application and my podcast app about half the time without a disconnect.  Going between bluetooth apps just isnt very stable.  Did they appear to do any improvements yet in the CM9 build?

I'm running  update-cm-9-20120315 at the moment as my daily driver, with no issues on phone calls, email, sms. I haven't tried tethering.
I had to flash Gapps (unlike with some previous versions) and on this particular version I had some trouble authenticating my account (I'm using 2-step verification). I guess it might have been something with Google servers. Sorted it by restoring Accounts with TiBU.

a couple of things I've noticed ... (with nightly mar/18)

* can't edit APNs (can add new ones and select different ones - just not edit).
* standard browser often glitches when scrolling on a particualar website I frequent http://m.abc.net.au/news
* the launcher (trebuchet) isn't using the new google play icon in top right.  standard rom does.

Thanks, that's good to know. I hope someone fixes that at some point. And if not, well, it'll be winter soon enough (;

Also be nice if the text-to-speech voice was back to the one from the previous version of Android!

Works fine for me with a blueant speakerphone thing. In fact, I left the speakerphone in the car today and it kept reconnecting automagically after the multiple stops I made.

As far as the browser goes, the only trouble I have is with mobile facebook being extremely slow. This happened after a FB update. I checked the website you linked, not glitchy for me.

Couple of bugs:
1) When I try to pick a contact pic from my picasa albums that are synced, albums FC's.
2) mobile.faceook.com is really slow. Started using the main app again.

I can confirm 1)
Regarding 2) Facebook app has always been terribly slow for me, even on stock. Every update just makes it worse.

I'm talking about the mobile website, not the app. The mobile website used to be fast. Now it's molasses-slow.

I'm not blaming ICS/CM per-se, just saying for some reason the mobile website update really slows it down on ICS browser.

Is anyone using any of the memory management options, and if so do they seem stable? The samepage merging option seems OK but I've not tried any of the others.
