I have a weird issue in the last 2 nightlies. 613 and 614.
A couple apps I use do NOT work with these nightlies. I've clear data/uninstalled/reinstalled fix permissions etc. Taptu and Foursquare. The apps launch but can NOT get ANY internet data at all!
I decided to NANDROID restore an old backup that had nightly 5-18, and taptu/foursquare works fine, updated to the latest version of the apps, and works fine. I then flash latest nightly 614 and BOOM, these two apps no longer get internet data (wifi/cell/whatever).

It's really weird. Anyone use these two apps? Or can try/verify my issue? Just download either one, go through the startup wizard for both apps and it'll just sit there trying to login or trying to sync.

Thanks.

I've just tried foursquare and the app is working fine on my phone. I'm using the 614 nightly and I didn't have any issues with either cell or wifi data connections. I did clear the cache and everything else before flashing (I was checking out another ROM).

Damn, I dunno what the heck is wrong with mine then. I've tried all kinds of things, the only thing that works is a nandroid back to 5-18, but updating to latest nightly breaks taptu/foursquare again. :(

I have the same trouble with latest ***htly build with Foursquare. Tried all things but nothing helped.

So there are two bugs I've noticed that have been plaguing my GN for several ***htly releases. There the bug I've reported before, where, sometimes, my interlocutor cannot hear me anymore, unless I put him on speaker. Afterwhich I can safely put him back on phone, but sometimes I have to do this several times during a conversation. The other bug is less intrusive, but still annoying. Basically, I cannot turn on my phone once it's been turned off, unless I take out the battery for a second or two. I very rarely turn off my phone, so it's not that big of a problem, but it's still something that should be fixed.

I have the same problem, sometimes I turn off my phone during the charging (I mean I plug the battery charger when the phone is on then, after some minutes (30-40 minutes), I turn off the phone) and when is time to turn it on or check the battery level it does not respond and I have to take out the battery...
This not happened with the update-cm-9-20120517-NIGHTLY-maguro-signed my previusly nightly before the cm-9-20120611-NIGHTLY-maguro

Do you think that Linaro code has been merged on 20120517-NIGHTLY ? I find that my GN is more responsive.

I had the strangest thing happen with my Galaxy Nexus's battery over the weekend.  Has anyone else heard of this?

Over the weekend, I accidentally let my phone run out of battery.  I swear I had it plugged it, but I went to grab it in the morning and the battery was almost at nothing.  Oh well, I thought, I must not have plugged it in all the way or something.  It ran out of battery and shut down soon after.  That night, I got home, plugged it in, and... nothing.  Wouldn't charge.

After freaking out a bit, I found that I could reproduce the following:
  • Remove and replace battery
  • Plug in
  • "Charging" lightning bolt appears on screen (BTW, what is the name for that mode, when the OS isn't loaded?)
  • After about 10 seconds, a solid white battery icon appears and the phone becomes unresponsive (which seemed its way of saying "I'm out of battery")
Pressing the power button while the lightning bolt was on the screen caused the phone to boot the first couple times, but it would shut down almost as soon as you reached the home screen because it was out of battery.  After the first couple tries, it would just flash the solid battery icon and become unresponsive when I pressed the power button.  Leaving it plugged in for a couple hours did not seem to charge the battery at all.

After reading some posts from other people with funky GN battery issues, I tried the following:
  • Remove and replace battery
  • Plug in
  • Don't touch it -- just leave it overnight even though it seems to not be charging
  • Remove and replace battery again in the morning
  • Turn on (before the pre-OS thinks it's out of battery)
Lo and behold, this time it booted into CM and the battery reported as being full, but the phone still did not detect that it was charging.

Going to Settings > Battery > (Refresh Icon) updated the text on that screen from "Discharging" to "Charging A/C" and updated the icon in the notification bar.  It has been working as normally all day since then.

My first thought was that this was a hardware problem, but after that last bit, I'm suspecting something in CM.  Can anyone shed some light on what's going on here?

Hi!!!

I' have been trying nightlies so far and today I noticed in 619 that there are several mp4 files in /system/media/videos
I do not know if these videos are in 4.0.4 AOSP ......why are these files there? are these files used somehow by any app?

Kind regards

Worst build ever! (EDITED because cyanogen was not to blame!)

I have flashed the latest nightly build (20120619) together with the gapps (gapps-ics-20120317-signed) and I have the following issues:

- camera won't work (even after deleting data of the camera app) (alogcat states "Fail to get camera stats" and "Couldn't get camera properties").
- talk crashes on startup (deleting data does not work as well).
- internal video player broken (won't play any video)

What is YOUR latest stable build of both gapps / cyanogenmod?

Chris

**EDIT: It seems that rommanager is downloading an ancient version of gapps. Will try with the newest (20120429) from goo.im **
**EDIT2: No effect using the newest gapps. Will try rolling back to the latest update-cm-9-20120606-NIGHTLY-maguro-signed.zip, it seems the naming scheme has changed, maybe the build server has changed as well?? **
**EDIT3: That version is b0rked as well. camera won't work etc... Will flash the last reported good version (20120520)**
**EDIT4: I think some area of my phone has been electrified somewhere. My old build of 20120520 will not work as well. Will do a nandroid restore**
**EDIT5: Nandroid restore did not resolve anything. Flashed stock image (downloaded from google support) and... nothing. Finally popped the battery and the damn thing started working!!!! TOTALLY BAFFLED BY THIS. Will reflash CM as soon as possible ^_^ **
**EDIT6:

Reflashed clockworkmod, Cyanogenmod and gapps 20120429 and ALL IS WELL AGAIN! Schweeeet.

Lesson learned: When camera FC's, zap cache, shutdown and pop battery...

**

Turns out, I'm a moron: it was a faulty charger.  I'd tested it several times just to be sure, but it was in that stage of failure where some angles work and some don't, and it was pure coincidence that it didn't work the times when it didn't.

Hi, all.

I've been experiencing an issue for a while and I'm not sure if this is a problem with CM9 (so far it's been present on every one of the builds i've installed) or if it's a problem with something on the device itself.  The only way I can describe it is as "font garbling" or "text corruption".  I've got screenshots if needed but forum won't let me post, PM me if you want to see what i mean.  Side note, if i reload Trebuchet (by going into the settings and simply leaving without making a change), it corrects itself but it comes back eventually.  It usually occurs between 24 and 48 hours after a reboot and will keep occuring.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?  Currently running 9-20120615-NIGHTLY-maguro with Baseband i9250XXLA2 baseband and stock kernel.

TIA!

What I miss ( but this is an issues in all CM9 roms ), is the feature to uninstall apps from the app menu ( long press on app then move it to uninstall button ). this feature is implemented in the stock rom, but on cm9 there's and Cancel button instead of an uninstall button.

is it intended to be like that, can we see that on cm9 soon as well?

To uninstall, like you say, long press and drag the icon to the cancel button... and wait. It will swith to uninstall instead.

I've seen this on my nexus a couple of times, not lately though. I'm not sure what causes it but you might try to fix permissions via rom manager or Cwm to see if that helps. I think that reloading the launcher can clear up the problem just the same as a reboot.

I drag the app to the info tab then click uninstall.
