OK here's what I did to fix it.
I went back to the original recovery tar I loaded with odin. Then wiped data and cache and dalvik.
The flashed newest snapshot and gapps.
works like a charm.

What I'm seeing is the kang (sorry UNOFFICIAL BUILD) that you and I flashed left the wrong device ID and so you need start over at the beginning to get back in sync with the CM9 nightlies.
That is the laymans version. I'm sure one of the devs can give you the technical version.

What was the original recovery you used?  The official v4.0.0.4 ... or 5.0.2.7 ...or 5.5.0.4?  I thought I tried all three, but maybe I just need another round of data, cache and dalvik wipes.  Here goes nothing... except my time.  Thanks, Joe.

Alright this wasn't quite as easy as expected.  But I did find this thread: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1528415.  After deleting the line on the file (and I happened to use 5.0.2.7) everything installed fine.  Finally got some ICS!

I can confirm that this DOESN'T work for the 32GB version GT-5710. I got an "assert" error. Thank god I had the foresight to also place the Kang build from here: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1425631 just in case something went wrong.

I got the assert errors and had to extract the zip, remove the first line from META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script and rezip. Used recovery 5.0.2.7.

Alternatively, we could see if they could add the appropriate ID for whatever ID the GT-P7510 is into that assert's OR.....

Or does anyone know any other way of having a working camera + ics?

Is that a typo "5710" and do you mean 7510? Its works fine so far on my 32GB GT-P7510. Its always a good idea to keep the last working ROM in your downloads when upgrading, saves a lot of time and trouble when wifi doesnt work suddenly ;).

I'm having problems with my audio when the Tab is placed in the dock. All audio still plays through the Tab's speaker instead of the device that is plugged into the dock's audio jack. This was working fine with build IMLK74K (March 27th) but hasn't worked for the past 2 weeks or so. I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working. Also, it seems like the screen sensitivity was tweaked and now I can't take notes on my device. It doesn't recognize my Jot stylus at all anymore and it is barely responsive enough to my finger to be able to write with. Is there a place to submit bugs for cm9 yet?

I had that as well. When you use ROM manager to update to the latest clockworkmod it works fine

As a quick question before I go flashing.  I have the 32GB version of the Wifi tablet.  The header for the Forum says specific to 16GB.  Should I avoid flashing this due to the 32GB version?

Thanks!
Miles

It works fine on my 32GB just make sure you have the latest clockworkmod installed

Hi, I am looking for a nightly change log. Anyone knows where to find it?

Also, what is all not functional yet?

Thanks.

Sorry for the noob question...I've got the nightly running on my tab. When I upgrade to the next one, do I have to wipe everything again or can I just CWM and load the new zip?

TIA.

No, these nightlies only erase the /system partition when installed, not /data. The changes between each are incremental, so there is no need to wipe anything other than caches.

Where is the appropriate place to discuss nightly builds for the 10.1 3G?

I tried posting at http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1670964, but found I am not allowed to send post to developers threads.

Anyway, according to that thread, I require version version of ClockWorkMod (5.5.0.4) for the assert statement to pass in the update.

Initially I installed ClockWorkMod from ROM Manager, version 5.8.3.1, and apparently that is not sufficient. Huh? Isn't 5.8.3.1 a later version then 5.5.0.4?

Since then I installed 5.5.0.4. It works now. Curiously ROM Manager still says 5.8.3.1 is installed, when this isn't the case. Also, I suspect rom manager might be listing downloads for p4wifi still, instead of p4, not sure how to confirm or deny this though.

This has left me slightly confused, just wondered if somebody could explain. Maybe different forks for ClockWorkMod? Or something?

Thanks

I'm trying to install the latest nightly but got the Error 7 message. So did as above (remove the first line from META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script and rezip) d but this time it just reported error and stopped.
Is there a sure fire way to prevent the "Error 7" problems? What is actually the problem?

Cheers

Tim

I've been running cm9-20120605-NIGHTLY-p4wifi successfully for a while (and many other releases prior to that). For the most part it works great.

I updated yesterday to cm-9-20120611-NIGHTLY-p4wifi and experienced a very serious bug, and since I'm apparently not allowed to post it to the bug tracker (which makes no sense), I figured I should mention it here.

Somewhere between cm9-20120605-NIGHTLY-p4wifi and cm-9-20120611-NIGHTLY-p4wifi, a regression was introduced in video playback (most likely in the kernel video driver for the Tegra chipset). After a few minutes of video playback[1], the screen will start to experience distortion that looks eerily like faulty hardware. Vertical noise lines will appear across the screen and dark sections of the picture will have a blue "halo" effect to them. However, when I downgraded back to the June 5th image that I'd previously been running, everything returned to normal.

[1] I tested Netflix and MX Player Pro, the latter with both hardware and software rendering

I seem to have lost access to my 5 GHz AP.  Running the nightly from 9June, but noticed it for a few days before that.  My wife's stock Tab is connected to the 5GHz AP just fine.
Also, though I can connect to the 2.4Ghz AP, sitting less than 15 feet away, I have a 5Mbps speed.

Anyone else?

i also have had this error 7 issue with the 06/12 and 14 versions. I have NOT tried to modify anything to get it working.

I had problems with this before using the KANG ROMS, i ended up changing the 5.0 GHZ channel on my router and it had resolved the issue. Since i switched over the CM roms i haven't seen the issue.

Anyone else has problem with Gmail and Google Map app on P4WIFI ROM? Crashing and hanging on my P7510 (Google I/O version) all the time. Reboot will fix it for a few days then it happen again. I did installed ROM and GAPPS from scratch, wiped everything. Last for a few days then it happens again. Sometime the screen became scrambled.

Cheers,

Cheers,

I have the same bug. It started recently when I updated to a more recent ***htly build. Rebooting does fix it for a while. I'm confident this will be fix soon with RC coming up.
