Updated (flashed over not wiped&flashed) as am already on CM7.1.0 Stable
edit: Have also tried a complete wipe/install with same results

Used CM7.2.0 framework-res & systemUI files to re-create my custom theme/style (battery, icons, fonts) on UOT Kitchen

Flashes OK & on reboot, custom icons do show on status bar while scanning SDcard
However, on Screen Unlock and device use, status bar icons revert back to defaults & then custom again

This didn't/doesn't happen on CM7.1.0...   any ideas?

TIA

Maybe try uninstalling "com.tmobile.theme" files (there will be about 2 or 3 of them) and "Theme Chooser" since you will not be using these files anyways as you have made your own from UOT Kitchen, make a back up first just incase anything goes wrong and also maybe make a back up of the .apk's you will be uninstalling aswell incase you ever decide you wish to use them again.

Other than that i dont know what the issue could be..

Sorry for the delay but you definitely deserve my thanks for this.

I'd given up and tried a few variants like Blackice, VictoryMod, OxygenMod but they just didn't do it for me. In all the time I've been using CyanogenMod ROMs, I've never used Theme Chooser. However, simply switching from 'cyanbread' to 'system' has solved my problem. Doh!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction :)
