Still getting this message, even after succesfully following the steps from your wiki to install the clockworkmod recovery. I got the latest cm7 version from your wiki, and also tried with cm9, but both ended with the same error.

Samsung Galaxy S I9000
base band version: i9000XXJVK
kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVT-CL617736 hardcorespeedmod-k16-7 #20
build version: GINGERBREAD.XWJVB

Thanks for your help, I've tried almost everything, it still gives the same error message.

E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

I am trying to install ICS, hope you can help.

Solved: CM recovery was succesfully installed, but it didn´t work until a couple of hours later. Once it did, it just worked fine. Thanks anyway.
