I've already wrote earlier (two days ago) what issue I had with inactive "Backup account", so here are my findings:

Currently I'm running update-cm-9-20120427-NIGHTLY-galaxys2-signed.zip with gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip

The problem I face is that gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip doesn't work correctly. For example there is no "Backup account" under Backup & reset.
First time I had problems with Usb connections -> I wasn't able to do one in neither mode (mtp/storage with/without usb debugging), but that problem I can not confirm since I only tested once.

The tests I did multiple times to confirm the problem with backup account are:

I. Install CM9 from Apr 23
1. Wipe data/cache in recovery mode
2. Install latest gapps (Apr 22) in recovery mode; restart
3. Setup google account (all backup options checked); restart to make sure everything is flushed.
4. No backup account;
5. Later on (I did some tunning and everything might went wrong) I had to transfer some data via USB -> no drivers recognized under Win7 and Ubuntu 11.04

Then I decided to investigate the issue.

II. Test with older gapps and same CM (Apr 23)
1. Wipe data/cache in recovery mode
2. Install previous gapps (March 17, i.e. gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip) in recovery mode; restart
3. Setup google account (all backup options checked); restart to make sure everything is flushed.
4. Backup account is there (some apps were recovered, but automatic installation was interrupted due to market upgrade to Google play); USB works fine in Win7/Ubuntu.

III. Test with latest CM (Apr 27) and latest gapps (Apr 22)
1. Wipe data/cache in recovery mode
2. Install latest gapps (Apr 22) in recovery mode; restart
3. Setup google account (all backup options checked); restart to make sure everything is flushed.
4. No backup account; (Didn't test USB at all)

IV. Test with simultaneously old and new gapps and latest CM (Apr 27)
1. Wipe data/cache in recovery mode
2. Install previous gapps (March 17) in recovery mode; don't restart (just make sure files are copied)
3. Install latest gapps (Apr 22) in recovery mode; And then restart;
4. Setup google account (all backup options checked); restart to make sure everything is flushed.
5. No backup account; (Didn't test USB at all).

V. Test with simultaneously old and new gapps and latest CM (Apr 27) - Version II.
1. Wipe data/cache in recovery mode
2. Install previous gapps (March 17) in recovery mode; restart
3. Setup google account (all backup options checked); restart to recovery mode!
4. Don't wipe anything! Install latest gapps (Apr 22) in recovery mode; And then restart;
5. The Android detects new gapps and starts "upgrade" - no setup wizard, just information that 18 apps are updated. Phone booted normally.
6. Backup account is there.

So, based on my experience the problem is that you can NOT use latest gapps directly, without having previously installed earlier version.
You need to stick with gapps from March 17 or optionally, after that to install gapps from Apr 22 in which case you will be upgraded flawlessly.

Since I don't know who the maintainer of the gapps is, I'm writing here with hope that someone will take care of this issue.

Regards

Hi,

i think i found a bug in mod9. When i scroll e.g. in browser and stop my finger while holding on screen. the webside or menu starts the flicker and beeing jerky. its just very very tiny about an half milimeter. but it still very annoying when u use tools like Remote Destop where u move a virtual mouse etc.

This problem exists in every menu and every app. Browers scrolling menus etc. U start scrolling then stop scrolling while holding your finger on that position, and menu starts to flicker very very tiny milimeters.

When i go back to original Samusng ICS Rom, that problem doesnt exist.

I did a video on that. I am scrolling on google search then i stop and dont move my finger. then u will see on top of the text , right at top corner of screen (Cyanogen Mod text) that there is a flickering of text from about an half milimenter all time. I took that video with an iphone. cant hold it very stable. but u can trust me. i didnt moved my finger after stopping the scroll.

Video:
http://www.tinyuploa...oad/file/N8xkOh

Does anyone has an idea if that is a bug or if there is a way to fix that. to have an accurate scrolling ?

Using the 27/4 nightly.

Just noticed that I can't get the notification drawer at the lockscreen.
I thought ICS should be able to do that?

Ok, I found the bug.
Did the reset, clear dalvik and reinstall to be sure.
Notification pull-down only works when the lockscreen type is 'Slide'.
I was using the PIN code type.

Hope this will be fixed soon.
Or is this the default AOSP behaviour?

IMO being able to pull notification when you have a security lock, defeats the purpose of the security. So I doubt they'll add that

Anyone knows how to change the alarm tone to say, a mp3 file?

Also, is there anyway to change font?

Discovered another thing.
The remote control of my ear buds don't seem to work with Winamp.
Only one of the 3 buttons work and when pressed the stock Music app comes up instead of controlling the Winamp app thats already playing a song.
(Control Headset option is checked in Winamp, doesn't work even when stock Music app is disabled.)

The other thing is that DSPManager is not working, as already reported by many.

Does anyone have a solution to the SMS receive time issue? even though I have enabled the sent time for the timestamp - it still shows the received time. I don't want to use Go SMS Pro (and I can't see this setting in it anyway), I want to use the software that has been released with the CM9 build.

Also I have noticed that some applications (mainly games) I install from Google Play vanish and I have to reinstall them. The progress in the game seems to be saved, but the game itself vanishes. I have only seen this behaviour since switching from a stock ROM to CM9.

I am currently on 20120420 nightly and downloading 20120429.

Thanks

D

I was on cm9 0316 for the last few weeks and recently updated to 0427. This version is really nice! GPS has improved alot. Seems pretty stable to me.
But i found a bug with standard music player. If u play a song, pause, resume, go back to album list, select a new song... if u repeat this procedure a few times the phone freezes in album select view. This was also in version 0316.

And it feels like the battery drain got worse in this Version.
Cm is such a good mod !!

Played a mp3 file that crashed the Music app.
I get the "Unfortunately, Music has stopped" dialog with that song playing.
Dismissing the dialog stops the playing.

The same file plays ok on Winamp though.
One thing to note is that the album folder has a long name with japanese characters.

0427 here. I keep hitting a wall with all recent builds: Initially after each factory reset everything works perfectly fine, Play Store and all. But after a day or two I get the following symptoms:

- Downloads from any browser/app that uses the Android download manager show up in notifications but then throw an "android.process.media has stopped" message and hang with no progress.
- Play Store initially opens and shows the loading animation it alway does before showing the Store's main page but then throws an "Play Store has stopped" message and exits.

Potentially unrelated, but the timing correlates:
- Any attempt to move, copy or delete files or folders with ES File Explorer fails with Explorer crashing.
- Refreshing the Gallery does not cause newly added images to show up.

I cannot nail it down 100%, but it appears these problems ard triggered when Play Store for the first time discovers an available update for any installed app.

I have gone through the whols battery of suggested or imaginable fixes, rebooting,  wiping caches, reflashing the GApps package, stopping apps and wiping their caches and files... to no avail.

Is anyone experiencing the same issues?
