Hi
I tried to install CM9 from CM7.1 using the nightly (April 2nd) and it failed with a "reset error". I took a nandroid backup, so I thought I would be able to quickly recover, but hours later things don't look good.
I have a stock froyo heimdall image I recovered to, I rooted and loaded CWM, but I can not restore by backup or install the CM7 zip.
Do I need to get to 2.3 to reinstall CM7.1 or restore my CM7.1 image? I can not find any 2.3 images anywhere online (multiupload seems to be where everyone post and it is down),. Anyone know where I can find a gingerbread rom image that I can jump back to CM7.1 from ?

I found KK4 Odin and Heimdall One clik with and without bootloaders here!

update 4/4/12
Althought the above boots and I could root it I could not install CM 7.2 from this. After loading a CM zip the phone gets into a boot loop. My guess is that it has different partitions layouts.

Anyone have a working recipe for how to recover from stock to CM? Better still, anyone know of a one-click Heimdall or Odin image to go straight to CM?
Note. If I ever get this back on CM, I intend to create a one-click recovery

Read the official full update guide. You can also read my guide over in the captivate general section, although I haven't fully written the gingerbread part yet

Update guide is great, but didn't help in this case. I managed to recover back to CM, by flashing stock froyo, rooting, installing a Darky8 rom and then back to cm7.1.
