I bought a new galaxy ace but unfortunately it has a better hardware than the original one and doesn't have any custom roms. Please can the developers make a ROM for this phone too as my favourite ROM is cyanogenmod which is unavailable.
And I forgot to tell that I read on xda developers that the roms of galaxy y would run on this phone but with some bugs (like camera not working) can someone tell me is there any ROM which I can  install (I need it for overclocking) or can the developers make one (please I request).

i brought galaxy ace thinking its quit a popular phone but i didnt know that theres some difference of "i" also...
please dont make thousands of people suffr... pls make CM9 for ACEi also...

Have 5830i as well, thinking there is only one version of the Galaxy Ace and knowing there is alternative firmware for this phone. But now after buying the i found out that none exists. Please release CM7 & CM9 for the i version.

just to say the 5830 is still sold in some places like the UK. In fact the 5830i wasnt even released here I think.

for information,in malaysia gt-s5830i was just released in this year. i hope there are cyanogen custom rom this device. please.

I got a new Galaxy Ace 3 days ago from Virgin Media and it was an S5830i so I guess I can confirm this at least in the UK. I think some people are working towards something over here on XDA but I don't really understand it. I'm just following along I guess until someone does CM7 for it.

Are you guys saying you ordered an actual s5830 but got a different model?

That is what I am saying.
Me and my mom have the same phone from Virgin Media, (S5830) except I got the i version while she has one of the older ones. This was less than a week ago I got this new phone and she got hers a month or two ago, so they are definitely shipping the newer model now.

My S5830i came with Android 2.3.6 GINGERBREAD.XXLD3
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 - dpi@DELL134 #1

yup. Bought from Carphone Warehouse, I received 5830i. afaik the same, but slightly faster CPU

dammit running out of RAM and storage, could do with "lite" android firmware stripped of everything (and then can install apps from playstore which some install onto SD)
