Running CM7.1 on an Evo 4G Shift, everything flashed and the OS works great.. but i wanna get rid of the DIY phone gadgets One-click wifi tether... and when i uninstall it, i can still go to 'Wireless & Networks>Tethering & portable hotspot' and it seems like its still the integrated DIY phone gadgets utility and same status bar icon when tethering or portable hotspot is active.... is there any way to get rid of this built-in app and replace it with something of my own choosing?.. I'd like if i could put in an unlocked version of sprint's own hotspot app, how can i do this! Im about to have a new laptop and id love if i could get this working flawlessly beforehand! And it also seems to perform very slowly btw for when  i do use the wireless hotspot from the stock CM7.1 flash...  any and all suggestions appreciated!

The wireless hotspot that is under that menu is not an app that can be uninstalled. It is built into the framework of Android. Other apps may be out there that mimic the built-in wifi, and that is probably what you uninstalled.
