I noticed on the "playstore" there have not been too many users using this app and I want to give others a heads up on this super app for the nook color. It was developed by inportb and has been a great tool for me.  ~~~~BotBrew~~~~ is a ▪ root ▪ app that brings cross-compiled command line software to Android, along with a package manager based on opkg and a service manager based on runit. The user interface is so easy I think even novice users and first time android users not used to using the command line in the terminal would appreciate using this app.

Use this package ONLY for the CyanogenMod 7.2 Release candidate and more recent nook color cyanogenmod builds, its called android-framework-services-v6.opk found in this link here . Use the package in the 3/10 - 4/14 dated options. http://forum.xda-dev...35&postcount=86

I got this script up and running fine on my nook color with no problems as of last week. Real Stable and fast.

CM 9 users will find their V6 Supercharger package in the first thread above. After you have installed "botbrew" and read the link above you are now ready to install some speed scripts.  Install  android-framework-services-v6.opk with "botbrew", configure your V6 script with the terminal as outlaid in the first link,  and reboot your nook color. YOU are now SUPERCHARGED. Notice the increase in speed.  The "botbrew' app can even found on the "play store" for downloading and was developed solely for supercharging the nook color.

Enjoy. I noticed almost a double increase in speed with apps and screen draws and overall  quick response times moving in-between the different home screens which had a slight lag time for me before. I tried installing Botbrew on the 7.2 final release and had problems... actually Botbrew installed OK, but it fails on "Bootstrap (anise)".

Thoughts or suggestions??

I ended up having to do a clean install of 7.2 final and Botbrew then installed OK.  Off to play with the rest of the instructions.

Got it installed OK and the V6 Supercharger.  Definitely seems to boost performance a bit.

I really like it. Just installed the new cyanogenMod 7.2 and its super fast with backports from ICS. Seems so smooth and stable. The best build yet. Its nearly as fast and smooth as using that speed script. If you still want to use that speed script you will have to reapply it after upgrading.

I installed and configured v6 supercharger, But I didn't note the terminal command to launch it after reboot. Anybody know what it is? Does v6 launch automatically, and if so, how can I tell? Thanks.

After reboot open a terminal and enter the following:

You can tell , its will really smooth out through the touch response and opening apps. What I do is use the most aggressive 1 settings in that script for supercharing and then unlock the desktop through that script. Then I adjust the OOM settings to the bullet proof launcher.  Then select reboot through that script once again.  I just reapplied it again on my 7.2 stable and it works well.

OK, I always had a special place in my heart for my nook, even though it was starting to feel a bit dated, but I'm now in love all over again! V6 has made the nook much snappier. Its the little things, like removing the lag from the firstfew strokes on the keyboard, and opening folders faster. And I loaded flipboard today, and its as smooth as butter. V6 pushes the nook over the edge. You know, from feeling just a bit under powered, and well, hacked, to polished.

How exactly does this work? What does it to? Basically optimizing small things that were left unoptimized  or sub-optimal in regular android OS, or something? I'm going to try it now anyways.

I'm an IT pro, but not a developer.  I *tried* to read what V6 does, but my eyes crossed.  Best I understand, it optimizes memory usage and defers kicking apps out of memory... but there must be more to it.

It made a very real difference on my NC running CM 7.2.  After some reading I reoptimized it using *I think* option 7 in the 512hp range.  I tried a higher setting, but Draw Something would hang.

Maybe someone has a more complete explanation of the "secret sauce".

I used the aggressive 512 option, and also the app optimization, option 13 I think. No problems yet.

Hm.. Apparently it changes things to do with memory management?
