Yes, you should be able to upgrade to any build in the CM7 series without wiping. But, as always, I would highly recommending making a nandroid backup... just in case.

I already have the latest nightly, the one from may 8th, can I update to the RC2?
do I have to wipe data or just update like I do with any nightly
