I recently put CM 7.2 RC1 on my Samsung Galaxy SII (AT&T) and the back and search buttons don't respond to being pressed. It doesn't reply with haptic feedback. The home button is working how the back button would work. I tried running the following command in the terminal as root to no avail.

sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db "INSERT INTO secure (name,value) VALUES ('device_provisioned','1');"

I've tried CM 9 and had the same problem. I would like to have the full functionality of my phone back.

Be sure that if you are using an i777 (original att galaxy s 2, no skyrockets) that you download builds labeled galaxys2att for cm7 or i777 for cm9
If you grab builds labeled galaxys2 they are for the international i9100 not the att i777 and thus your button issue occurs.

In other words;

Go here
http://download.cyan...om/?device=i777
For cm9

Go here
http://download.cyan...ice=galaxys2att
For cm7

Neither of those links work. This is an AT&T phone. Those images give an error during installation. Also, this is a galaxy sII, not skyrocket.

I've been running all the various versions of CM 7 on mine and have never had problems with the buttons not working correctly except for the fist time when I flashed the wrong clockworkmod recovery image.  The various buttons weren't working correctly at that time and I wound up having to use adb to get back into recovery mode to flash a different version.  Here's the thread:
