First off I am new to the android (smartphone in general) world.

Last night I Installed nightlys from 5-29 to 6-1.  Everything A.O.K.  But following the install 6-3 I can't boot.  I get the logo screen  (I9000 & new cyanogenmod)  then a quick screen with some script (to quick to read) and back to logo screen ....the loop continues.

One note: I did install the clockwork update somewhere inbetween the nightly builds I installed last night.  I beleive it was between 5-30 and 5-31.

Please help!

Thanks,

Dave

I just noticed that there were  CM7 builds on the nightly page.  It is possible that I might have loaded a cm7 on cm9.  I'm not sure if this is possible.  I also see that the May builds that were posted yesterday were removed from the downloads page, so I can't be sure of this.

You will have to wipe everything and reflash the newest nightly. Boot into recovery, choose wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache (under advanced menu), then flash CM again.

FYI you don't have to flash every single one, just the newest build.

Here is where I stand.  I couldn't get into recovery with even a three button boot.  I used a dongle (luckily purchased last week to meet an Amazon shipping quota) to put in download mode.  I used odin and recomended pit and pda files to fix kernel.  This allowed me to make it to revocery mode.  Unfortunately I bought this phone with Cm9 installed and the previous owner had cleared all other roms from internal, de-abling data/factory reset througn clockwork Recovery.  My nightlies exist, but won't install on their own.  I downloaded android sdk and installed platform tools.  I am currently waiting for the Samsung driver for mobile phones v1.3.450.0 to install (this driver install  is taking forever- already an hour and  only half status).  When it's complete I will attempt an adb push comand to move the cm7 file to the internal.

Am I on the right track.  I'm comming in as a 1 week old smart phone user- before that I was in regular cell phone world.

Is their an easier way to convert a file from the external sd to the internal?  The first thing I tried once in CWM was removing the phones sd card and placing the full cm7 on it from a PC.  This was in vain in that CWM wouldn't allow me to see/download from what was on the external.

Thanks again for any help,

Dave

Heya, DaveParm. It's HawkPidgeon from eBay. I sold you this phone. Have you tried using these drivers?

(Oops. I can't send you links here because I don't have 50 posts. I'll try sending them to you through eBay. Otherwise, shoot me an email at hawkpidgeon [at] gmail [dot] com.)

I would definitely suggest uninstalling the drivers you currently have and attempting to use the ones on that page.

Have you also tried going into "Mounts and Storage" in recovery mode while the phone is plugged in and selecting "Mount USB Storage"?

Also, it might be good just to try a different USB port on your computer for the sake of eliminating every possibility. I also wouldn't be surprised if the cable itself is bad; bad USB cables are common.

Thanks for the help!  Unfortunately I still cant get the sd to access.  I have had a little more success with my work PC.   The device is recognized, and intenal sd is recognized but ghosted (clicking on it gives me "please insert disk into removable disc *  "  Whenever I try to reinstall drivers  windows take over and says best driver for your device is already installed.  If I uninstall, and reconnect the device, the drive is instantly reinstalled with the one windows wants.

With the help of SDK tools,  I now can see the phone (comand prompt  c:\program files (x86)\android\android-sdk\platform tools\   with the command adb devices.  The pecular thing is, it shows up (serial #)  when in clockworkmod, but not in download mode.

A push comand to the internal gives me permission denied.

If this was working right should I be able to transfer files right from windows explorer, and not have to mess with DOS?

HawkPidgeon- I love the (or loved the deceased)  phone.  Thanks again for everything!

I finally figured irt out!  The drive wasn't formatted right.  I ran Odin again with the stock 2.1 install and kernel,  including re-partion  and they now work!! Phone is unbricked and in historic  e-clair.  Next up,  a root, backup then back to a custom rom.

Thanks,

Dave
