Hey Guys,

So saw Cyanogenmod supported list recently and still dumbfounded to find out that Explorer still isn't supported. I have a few questions if anyone wouldn't mind to answer.

1.) I know it's hard to port ROMs(Being in programming industry, trust me, I know), however, Why is Wildfire supported but not Explorer? Given the amount of time, Explorer has been around since September 2011, I think? While the Wildfire has been around since February, 2011. I don't see why this is a really big deal (Personal opinion)

2.) Just wanted to know, if there are really any plans to port CM to Explorer. If there aren't, just let us know so we stop bothering you :P

3.) Would it be possible to Port CM9 to Explorer or would it only support CM7?

Thanks, and any +1 replies this thread can get, that much better. (I still don't think our chances are that good, however)

The big thing that it comes down to is CM doesn't actually just pick a bunch of new devices that will get support, rather, new ports get submitted to them for possibly acceptance to the CM codebase. Different developers that sometimes aren't even associated with CM initially start porting the device to CM. Once it gets to a stable enough level, they submit the code to CM for approval and eventual inclusion into the official CM family. If no developer takes it on, then you won't get CM support. Plain and simple.

Usually you can find out if anyone is working on your device on the xda forums. A lot of times, you can have very functional builds on there, but for various reasons they just aren't official (this could be due to poorly structured code, the dev hasn't submitted the code to CM, or there is a bug that is big enough to prevent inclusion... even if it doesn't affect most users on the phone). There is a build for my HTC One X on xda that is very functional and very stable. But there were enough hacks to get things working that the developer doesn't want to submit it to CM until they can get better workarounds in place. But it runs very good and I consider it completely stable for my needs (even though it is listed as alpha).
