I had CM9 beta 0 installed on my phone last week, the 3g or 4g data has not worked since. Everything else works great. Someone suggested that I update to beta 4, which I did this morning. Still no data connection. Yes I have tried the obvious- mobile data is on, I have toggled it off and on, and turned airplane mode off and on. I noticed the modem did not change with the beta 4 update. It was FC19 and still is FC19. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I should proceed? I am admit that I am pretty new to this whole process (driven to discover this great mod by Sprint's software). Thanks.

Beta builds are not official CM builds and may have bugs that are not present in official builds. Try a build from http://download.cyanogenmod.com

Thanks for the reply. I flashed my Epic back to 9.0.0-RC1 and I have the same situation. Modem is still FC19 by the way. Someone has mentioned a problem similar to my situation on other threads and the answer was to "try" different modems. The only problem is that when I look at the provided links, they are old and somewhat ***ue- I am unsure which of the modems I should try, if this is a waste of time and if I can go from an FC19 modem to another modem, as most modems have steps from a previous version. Is there any kind of definitive page that I am missing that gives me a more in depth explanation of modems and how I can install a different one without doing a bunch of things that may involve a novice user such as myself bricking my phone (again). I will be donating to CM once I can get my data working. I think the format is great and the control of my hardware that it places back into it's owner's hands. It is much appreciated.

I wanted to also add that I have tried to use the FC09 sd card utility and it fails to initialize, it says e signature failed to verify or something of that nature. It seems like if I could get this utility to work and update my PRL and profile, this would solve the issue. I cannot post the link as I am new to your community and it is not allowed. (?) It is the link to the Cyangenmod epic FAQs post that relates to my problem and the FC09 rom utility.
