I used to have Sprint Visual Voicemail (and I loved it).
Now that I have CM7.2 I don't have visual voicemail and I keep getting ghost voicemail notifications (meaning that I get a notification without an acutal voicemail).
Anyway I can get around this annoying notification?

Well, before you installed CM7.2, did you do a Titanium Backup of your VM app? If so, you should be able to restore the app & data and be back up and running. I say this because I did it when I switched over to 7.2, and just restored from my backup and the VM worked fine. However, I had extenuating circumstances, namely severe lag on 7.2, so just nandroided back to my 7.1 backup, and all is well.
