One is experimental and the other is a regular nightly. Not actually sure what the experimental features are but I'm going to try it out tonight.

mate...it's obvious:

cm-9-20120628-NIGHTLY-galaxys2 < regular nightly
cm-9-20120628-EXPERIMENTAL-galaxys2-STK  < has the name "Experimental" in the actual name!

Thank you for the answer!

I'm not allowed to post the linlk, but I can only see 2 versions with the exact same name: <can't post it without spam filter blocking message>

. The only thing that differs is the size and the date added.

One is 130.87 MB and added on 2012-06-26 13:39:54. The other is 131.10 MB added on 2012-06-26 09:25:22.

So between these two, which one is the experimental and which one is the nightly?

Experimental includes new Stk functionality. You can use now SMS based Sim application like banking. In Estonia we use this functionality for authentication to government portals and banks.

So still, can anybody tell us, of the 2 versions of CM9-RC1 which appear in the experimental category, which one is the experimental version and which one is the nightly?

PS: their names are absolutely identical.

No, not the nightlies directory. In the release candidate directory, there are two identically named zip files, different sizes, four hours apart.

So no one can say which CM9 RC1 to use? The older one is larger, the newer one is smaller. Which is the lady and which is the tiger?

Then just flash one...

I took the smaller, newer one, and it works flawlessly so far.

I reckon that's the atttitude you have to take with third-party ROMS. "Suck it and see - no guarantee - don't like it? flee!"

Anyway, finally found an answer on xda, newer is "better".

Other posts indicate that the RC is effectively a copy of the nightly on RC day, and nightlies continue... nightly.
