I have recently been given a Viewpad 7e.
It did not have Android Market or Google Play installed. I created a google Gmail account which is fully operational and downloaded/installed the Google Play Store apk.
When I tap Play Store I get the message "You must add an account to the device to continue. Do you want to add one now?"
When I select "yes" i am returned to the home screen and nothing else happens.
I have seen requests for help on the internet for the same problem (different tablets) but can't understand/follow the propsed solutions as I am totally non technical.
Please is there an easy way to overcome this problem that even an idiot (me) can manage as the Viewsonic appears to be a google Play supported device.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I am not familiar with the 7e, I have a number of viewpad 7's and other android devices. In general when you first turn the device on it takes you through a setup process where you can input your google account (gmail) information.
You might try settings>accounts and sync (or something like that) and see if you can add an account.
If you don't have a lot of data on the tablet yet, personally I would go to settings>privacy (that is the path on the 7) and do a factory data reset. When the tablet reboots it should take you through the startup process.
Again this is all based on the way the 7 works and how most of the other android phones/tablets I have used work. Hope it helps.

Hi DFAndroid
Thanks for the suggestion - I have been throuh the process of factory reset and set up from scratch which seems to work OK including setting up a Google Gmail account. I have reloaded the google store APK and installed but all to no avail as when I tap on the store app or request a download of an app from the Google play store i receive the prompt to set up an account.
Thank you anyway - if I find a solution I will post it here as it seems to be common judging by the number of WWW requests for help.
