Hey everybody,
my mom has a Motorola Defy and she has some awful apps like QuickOffice and CardioTrainer which are for some reason installed as system apps which I cannot uninstall anymore. After some research this is a common problem thanks to blur.
Now is my question: If I install Cyanogenmod on the device, will it still be possible to install anything as systemapps which I cannot longer uninstall? I mean, my mom needs a phone which works even if this means that she can't use App X or Y.
But I assume that it will still be possible to install those as system apps but I'll be able to unstall them since the device needs to be rooted in the first place to install Cyanogenmod?
Thanks,
Regards
Ctwx

You will be able to install anything as a system app or remove system apps. There's no function built in to CM9 but if you have a file explorer capable of root (like ES File Explorer) you can navigate to the apps folders (system apps: /system/app ; user apps: /data/app) and it's as simple as copying and pasting the *.apk files you want to move or deleting the ones you don't want.
I hope that helps.
