why is no one working on a solid root for the HTC Vivid. Its such an amazing phone but it would be so much better if it was able to be rooted.

Any updates on this?  I'm really interested in Cyanogen for HTC Vivid.  Mostly because I want to jettison all the AT&T bloatware.  Specifically, they've got a hot spot service that you can't disable.  Whenever I'm out on the town, my networking just stops working.  It's because their service has found a hot spot and joined it automatically.  Unfortunately, these hotspots require you to register/agree before you can use the network.  So I can be mid download or using an app and it just freezes.  I've contacted HTC about this and they blame AT&T and say no fix is forthcoming.  There's no way to disable the service or "forget" the hotspot network.  Argh!
