I was going to upgrade my rooted 3.2.1 tiamot rom to the newer 4.1 rooted rom.  I rebooted into clockwork 4.0.4?-i think that's the ver#, and chose to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and then there was the option to wipe system partition (which I did that too).  I then went to upgrade my clockwork mod to v5.8.3.1 which was a zip file on my ext-sd card that I copied over from my laptop.  When I went to access the ext-sd card, it wasn't mounted...No problem right?!  All I have to do is mount it and try again... Yeah, that didn't work... I couldn't mount the external sd card to do my upgrades!

What can I do to get the tablet to see the ext-sd card?  I finally used RSD-lite to reinstall the factory rom from motorola, which seemed to work, and I was able to get the tablet back up on stock rom, but even astro file manager wouldn't see the ext-sd card, however it WAS mounted....

Did I jack up the tablet by wiping the system partition in clockwork?  How can I get clockwork to (once again) mount the ext-sd card?

Someone please help me.  All the forum posts I've read is people that didn't know HOW to mount the ext-sd card...which isn't my situation.....

Thanks in advance!,
Adrian

I had the same issues with Clockwork When trying to flash my Galaxy Note with a new ROM or creating a backup with CRM, or anything.  Same exact error message as you.  I finally got it to work using Goo Manager.

FIXED!!!!!

It turns out that Motorola Zoom WIFI needs Clockwork Mod Recovery version 3.2.0.0.  It's an older version, but it just works! I followed the instructions found at: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1796335  and it fixed my issue.  I can mount my external sd card, AND install whatever ROM I want again.  PHEW!!!! Man I was at my witts end!  Hope this helps someone else who is having the same problem.  FYI: The link above has me to install Rooted ROM 4.1.1 and as it was installing I saw it flashing and upgrading the system bootloader.  I'm wondering if that had part to play as well.  Dunno, but it worked!

Same issue. I have to use a USB dongle. ClockworkMod could mount that.

I am having the same issue. I was just able to reproduce huanda's results. Used a usb host cable and a flash drive, mounted flash drive as /sdcard. Installed RMO and gapps no problem from drive. Perhaps CWMRecovery is confused by the fact that a xoom has emmc, microsd and can host a usb drive. BTW, running CWM 5.8.3.1.
