I flashed my Desire to CM7 when I upgraded, intending to use it as a wifi game pad. Because I had plenty of APK files, I never put gapps on the phone. Then I gave it to my little brother, as a gift.

My brother is too smart for his own good. He tried to flash gapps on it, somehow failed, and now the Market fails to open. I'd like to fix this, but I'm not sure how. I tried installing CM7 again, hoping it would lose the gapps - no dice.

Can I flash back to stock? If so, how? I apologize if this is a dumb question, I was smart enough to root the phone and run CM7 but that was mostly through tutorials.

You could just wipe the system partition and do a data wipe and reinstall again.
