I use trackball alerts religiously as much of the time I have the volume off for biz. I flashed CM6 and set up TA from CM Mod settings using succession. A few minutes ago after getting out of a meeting I had 10 emails but no light was blinking. So I sent a test email to myself and noticed that TA only flashes a couple of times and then stops. Not sure if this is a common a problem but I reflashed and still having the same issue. So IMO this defeats the point of TA. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I had this same issue when I was using pershoots kernel.  They worked fine at first and then stopped working if the screen was off.  As soon as I woke the phone up it was fine.  I flashed CM6 back over it and it worked fine.  I'm now using kmobs kernel and everything is still good.

Very interesting, thanks a lot.

No problem.  Out of curiosity, were you using pershoots kernel?

I sure was.

I haven't seen anyone else say they're having the same issue in the IRC channel.  I tried the 8/28 kernel which was pulled and then reverted to the 8/27 kernel and it exhibited the same behavior.  Ah well, hope it fixed your issue.

i just tested this, and i cannot reproduce it.

i just sent a test gmail to myself, trackball stayed blinking green for more then 5 minutes before i woke it up and acknowledged it.  im using a similar kernel to 0827a from droidbasement (with differing voltage adjustments and regulator (which 'shouldn't' effect the trackball alerts).

I'm not sure. Maybe it's a combination of something we set? I disabled sleeping when the screen was off and disabled setcpu as well. I thought maybe I was throttling the cpu back to much.

The same discussion is included below. I'm still having the same issue although I am confident pershoot will get to the bottom of it.
