I have a modded HTC Desire GSM, It doesn't have google market/playstore on it. I don't know how to install it on this. If someone can help me out and list a few steps to do that, I would really appreciate it.
If not, help me restore to the original settings?

Hello,

First of all, downloadt this: http://cmw.22aaf3.co...0828-signed.zip
This is google market.

Install it in recovery mode and reboot phone. Let the phone apply updates and you will have Google Play.

Let us know if your problem is solved.

I have the same problem too. I installed CM-7.2.0.1 this morning but forgot about the Google Apps. Now I cannot access my Gmail and Google Play.

Now that I have flashed the ROM I am not able to access the SDCard via HTC Sync. I am also not able to physically read the SDCard from a card reader (I suppose it is formatted to a proprietary format?)

Appreciate if anyone can advise how I can load the apps onto my phone.

Thanks.

go to the main menu -> Applications and check unknown sources.
Plug the phone to your computer. The phone will notice you that you are plugged to a computer and then select mass storage connectivity.
Copy the google app.zip to the sd card.
Long press power button, then choose reboot -> recovery.
install google app.zip and reboot the phone.

waiting for your reply.

The above instructions did not work for me. I went here: http://goo.im/gapps and downloaded a slightly older version of GAPPS and it all worked.
