This is great. Just flashed new version 3, only problem now is can't upload to Picasa. Went to settings>accounts & sync and don't see a sync for Picasa web album. Don't know if it is missing in 5.0.8t2 or what. Re-flashed gapps, and tried to manually sync it through 3d Gallery. All I got was a fc saying that process com.google.apps
uploader quit. How do I fix this?

Not sure, after installing dual or 3d I either auto sync or I get a warning message asking for permissions to be set

Fixed by downgrading to 5.0.7t2, doing fix permissions. Then updating to 5.0.8t2. That pulled My Uploads to latter. It still doesn't auto sync but atleast I can manually upload to Picasa through gallery 3d. Like it this way better. Less drain on the battery, choose what to upload and when. Thanks.

Flash From Recovery:
Gallery Switch Installer (06/02/2010)
Attachment GallerySwitchv3.zip

This should address the problem with dual gallery installing incorrectly.
Also this is the new multi-touch swipe-to-navigate Gallery from 5.0.8
Please let me know if it is still working in 5.0.7 with MT and swipe.

After flashing you will have five new commands in terminal:

gallery3d
gallery2d
galleryx2
galleryx2rm
galleryrm

gallery3d/2d will overwrite current gallery with the one specified

galleryx2 will install both galleries on your device (you will need to give gallery permission when it asks if you have picasa web albums to sync)

galleryx2rm will uninstall dual gallery (reverting to 2d)

galleryrm will remove all traces of the files and scripts used (like it never happened)

Gallery3D.apk was modified just to add a different icon and name (thanks h3g3m0n) (for differentiation when going dual)

Attachment dualgallery.png

how do i apply this on my phone? thru terminl imulator or flash it like the zip?

This is my modified version of Gallery 3D from before, its just a separate .apk that should install as normal but with a different App name "Gallery 3D" so you can tell the difference.

It should work fine if just installed along side the normal 2D gallery on the D/S version (although might run into some problems if you have installed another 3D gallery, if you do just uninstall them first).

hi! ive installed the one that stevo had, do they work like yours? and stevo's gallery3D seems to work fine but takes longer to load up the pictures, if use yours, how do i uninstall and flash your .apk?

Tried installing the dual gallery:

$su
# galleryx2
Installing Dual Galleries...
     pkg: /data/gallery/Gallery3D.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDTATE_INCOMPATIBLE]
Done.

I am running: 5.0.8 DS T4

Any help would be much appreciated, I would love to have the gallery3D back!

I do not, just prior to this failure I had just installed this zip. I haven't had any gallery 3D on this install prior to this, but just in case I tried this anyway:

$su
# galleryx2rm
Restoring Single Gallery...
Failure
Done.
# galleryx2
Installing Dual Galleries...
     pkg: /data/gallery/Gallery3D.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDTATE_INCOMPATIBLE]
Done.

I'm not sure, you can manually install gallery 3d with a root for explorer by navigating to data/gallery and clicking gallery3d.apk

Use the application manager to clear data for media storage the use dev tools->media scanner. Should fix the problem.

Same thing on 5.0.8-ds. Installing only gallery3d works tho, so no biggie.
