I got the droid.ogg file from my friends Droid X, I want to use it on my phone for notifications(texts). It won't let me use it from the sdcard, so I assume you have to root it into CM6.

How do I do so?

droid.ogg file on sdcard root

G1/Dream running CM6

thanks!

Two ways.

Terminal:

mount -o remount,rw /system
cp /sdcard/droid.ogg /system/media/audio/notifications
mount -o remount,ro /system

Or use a file explorer or mount your sdcard to your pc and create a set of folders with the same structure on your sdcard root:

media/audio/notifications

Copy the ogg file there.

If you don't see it reboot first.

File system is the easiest, plus if I change phones it'll be there when I need it!

thanks!
