this seems to be the biggest issue with 6.1rc1.  Ran great yesterday, after charging all night it now runs super slow, even after task killer, and restart.  please fix. Does the g1 just not have enough RAM for this rom? or is it really the kernel?

don't mean to be an arse but isn't this a known issue with pershoots tree? http://droidbasement...db-blog/?p=1217

Known Issues:
-For builds lower then Froyo (i.e. Eclair), when USB is plugged in, vold will SIGSEV.
-After unplugging from USB, please reboot to prevent excessive battery drain. *This is being worked on.

I assume that this would have come across to Cyanogemod 6.1RC1 as it's indicated this is the tree being used? (http://github.com/Cy.../CHANGELOG.mkdn)
- N1/DS - Kernel 2.6.35 based on Pershoot's repository

Just a hunch that is only founded on changelogs, blogs as personal experience.  Flame on. :)

It's the kernel. Flash back to 2.6.34.7 and the problem is solved.
Does anyone know if armv6 improvements are lost downgrading to 2.6.34?

Looking forward for fixed kernel. I am using older version now and everything seems to be just fine.

I don't think it is the USB issue, I'm even experiencing it after a normal load via de G1's regular loader. I've made a new bugreport as the old issue was about CM6.0

I found a solution, deactivate your facebook notifications for mobile.

This issue is known. It has to do with the pershoots latest kernel included. It is being worked on. A quick fix is to unplug usb after recharging and then rebooting into recovery. While in recovery wipe cache and dalvik. This will resolve the issue in most cases. If your issue doesnt get resolved by this, check to see which process in staying awake, change your brightness setting, disable wifi when you dont use it, disable 3G when you dont use it, and disable GPS when you dont use it.

It has been 48 hours since i last charged my phone and i still have 50% remaining.

I have found the reason about this problem:
in the "Battery use" there is a "Android OS" item, when it is there, the battery is used very fast..
But the problem is that this "Android OS" doesn't appear anytime.. But when it appears, the only way is restart the phone..

Why ?

I used the Pershoot port.

Don't esaggerate ... Yes, the kernel has a bug, but it's enough to restart the phone with usb disconnected to resolve this problem.

It's far more likely to be one of the apps you have installed.  I've got rid of Skype altogether because it was such a resource hog.

I use my ION as a test device, no sim, all wifi.  So far with some use... flashing the rom, radio, mods, running tests, logcat a lot... still going good

How accurate can this be, if the phone does not have any signal, its bound to use less battery, know what i mean

I upgraded to pershoots newest kernel and it seems to be working fine. 13 hours and still at 75% with regular use on Facebook and this forum. Kernel is 35.8 as opposed to 35.7 that comes with 6.1. With 35.7 my phone was dead within 6 hours so this is definitely an improvement lol

I'm facing the same issue. With a 32A device after 3 hours battery is at 50% by staying into my pocket, and is a bit hot as well.

Just had a bit of a problem with mine. Walked into my lecture with ~50% battery left, pulled it out half an hour in and it was down to 10%. Only thing I could see that was odd was the "Android System" was at around 20% of my usage. It said it had used an hour of CPU time.

Ok, found on the droid basement blog about the last kernels (.7 and .8):

-After unplugging from USB, please reboot to prevent excessive battery drain. *This is being worked on.

TBH I've experienced no difference between the RC 6.1 and the Stable 6.0.

P.S. Stable 6.0's battery life was better than 5.0.8
