Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but since I've replaced my router and I'm no longer getting the "connection unsuccessful" messages after sleep I have run into the same issue described by the thread's parent.

It doesn't stop responding instantly, but does after a minute or so of no data. Wifi settings don't fix it, Wifi Fixer doesn't either(I think the new radio means the current version doesn't work anyways!). I have noticed that pinging my phone as it's initially sleeping tends to keep the wifi awake longer, so that it only completely goes to sleep after I stop pinging it every 1 minute or so. As long as I am sending/receiving any data wifi stays alive.

It's not a gigantic deal to me, as e-mail is the only real thing that is hampered(I guess google talk as well), but as someone without a data plan, I live on Wifi. I just have to physically turn on the screen now to see if I have new mail.

Ideas?

I had the same thing, online radio would nearly instantly buffer when the display goes out. I changed some settings on the wifi and it worked again. I think I actually solved the whole wifi issue for ME. I am activ on a xda thread about this issue (all tough with a other nick). I will post my finding when I am really shure it is this setting. I would suggest to read the thread: http://forum.xda-dev...t=706454&page=3

Did you try to add the wifi network manually? I mean go to: Add Wifi-Network and put in all the settings manually.

So I have the issue at my house, with WEP or WPA-TKIP. Changed my network to open, and I didn't have the issue.

I'm giving up on the issue. Setting the AP manually doesn't help, and it looks like it's some deep-seeded issue in our N1s. Makes me hesitant to buy another HTC product honestly :/

edit: well... it looks like after much finagling, the issue has gone away, even though I'm back at the original settings. Interesting.

If you believe that "Wifi sleeps when the device is locked" is an issue for you, then just go to the wireless settings and press the menu button, in the advanced setting (or whatever the actual name is), set the policy to never sleeps/disconnects or whatever it is in English.

Besides the title, I don't really get what your post says, sorry  Posted Image

WOW! this works!. Glad i've found it. Wel I choose the "don't sleep when in use" (or whatever it is in english) and it works.

Very glad because this caused a lot of dataconsumption over the last month sinse I have CyanogenMod installed. I listen to Spotify a lot while working, and discovered that if I have been listening a long time, the device shuts down the wifi and falls back to 3G (or H or whatever)... So As a work around I as disableing the mobile data connection everytime i was on a wifi network to make sure it wont consume data :)
