Note: if you already have the old and want to update to the new version, you should uninstall the old one first.

I've seen so many posts asking
1) how to get Sprint Visual Voicemail (VVM) on CM6?
2) once I have Sprint VVM, how do I stop the texts from 9016?
1) Sprint VVM can be obtained by booting to recovery and flashing "Voicemail.zip". Credit goes to theimpaler747 @ xda-developers
2) To finally end all the confusion regarding the 9016 text notifications for new users:
-Logging in to sprint.com and adding 9016 won't stop them from coming
-You actually need to be able to receive the text messages, as they are read by Sprint VVM as instructions to download the voicemail
-You can use Handcent to "blacklist" 9016 texts, but if you still use the stock messaging program, the 9016 texts still show up. Also, not everyone wants to switch to using Handcent
-You cannot use just any number blocking app... as mentioned in the 2nd point, you must still actually be able to receive the text in order for Sprint VVM to work
At the time of writing, RedList is the easiest and leanest free app available that gets the job done. Download it here. Then open the program, and add 9016 as a new contact in the Red List. Finally, go to Setup and make sure both notification boxes are unchecked. DONE!
If RedList doesn't work for you, you can always use Super - Private Conversation. It's basically a more full featured version of RedList, but it takes much more internal memory.
Once your phone receives the text from 9016, Sprint VVM immediately recognizes it and properly downloads the voicemail. Immediately afterwards, RedList recognizes it and removes it from the system SMS inbox. You won't even get a text notification; you will only get your voicemail notification!
